We fully comply with the federal Fair Housing Act, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the Unruh Civil Rights Act, and all applicable Los Angeles municipal fair housing ordinances. 1. Federal Fair Housing Act
The Federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. §§ 3601–3631) prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on the following protected classes:

2. California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and Unruh Civil Rights Act
California law provides broader protections than federal law. Under the FEHA (Gov. Code §§ 12900 et seq.) and the Unruh Civil Rights Act (Civ. Code § 51), The Rise Group does not discriminate based on any of the following protected characteristics:

- Gender Expression

California's fair housing laws cover virtually all housing, with very limited exceptions. Unlike federal law, California does not exempt most owner-occupied single-family housing from fair housing requirements.
3. Los Angeles Municipal Fair Housing
The City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County provide additional fair housing protections administered by the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD). The Rise Group complies with all applicable city and county ordinances, including protections based on:
- Source of income (including housing vouchers / Section 8)
- Criminal history (in accordance with applicable "fair chance housing" ordinances)
- Any other locally protected characteristics

4. Our Commitment
All agents, employees, and contractors of The Rise Group are required to comply with fair housing laws and our internal Equal Housing Opportunity policy. We provide fair housing training to all team members and take all complaints of discriminatory conduct seriously.
We do not:
- Steer clients toward or away from neighborhoods based on any protected characteristic ("steering");
- Apply different terms, conditions, or standards in the representation of buyers or sellers based on protected characteristics;
- Make, print, or publish any advertisement that indicates a preference, limitation, or discrimination based on any protected class;
- Represent that a property is unavailable when it is available;
- Deny any person access to our services on the basis of any protected characteristic.

6. Filing a Complaint

- File a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department (CRD) within one (1) year of the alleged discriminatory act at calcivilrights.ca.gov or 1-800-884-1684;
- File a complaint with HUD within one (1) year of the alleged act at hud.gov/fairhousing or 1-800-669-9777; or
- File a civil lawsuit in state or federal court.
