Accessibility Statement
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
Standard: WCAG 2.1 Level AA
Applicable Law: ADA Title III · California Unruh Civil Rights Act (Civ. Code § 51) · Fair Housing Act
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
The Rise Group is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards. We believe every person should be able to access real estate information, property listings, and our services regardless of ability.
2. Applicable Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Our accessibility efforts are guided by:
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III — and its application to websites as places of public accommodation;
- California Unruh Civil Rights Act (Civ. Code § 51) — which prohibits discrimination by business establishments, including websites, on the basis of disability;
- Fair Housing Act — accessibility requirements for real estate services;
- California Government Code § 11135 — where applicable.
3. Accessibility Features
We work to ensure our website includes the following accessibility features:
- Text alternatives (alt text) for non-text content such as property photographs;
- Captions and transcripts for audio and video content where applicable;
- Sufficient color contrast ratios for text and interface components;
- Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements;
- Clear and consistent navigation structure;
- Forms with descriptive labels and error identification;
- Resizable text without loss of content or functionality;
- Screen reader compatibility through semantic HTML and ARIA attributes.
4. Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance, some content may not yet fully meet all guidelines. Areas we are actively working to improve include:
- Third-party MLS listing widgets and property search tools (provided by external vendors);
- Older PDF documents, which may not be fully tagged for accessibility;
- Some video content that may lack complete closed captions.
We are working with our vendors and internal team to address these limitations on an ongoing basis.
5. Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Voice recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
- Keyboard-only navigation
We recommend using the latest version of your browser and assistive technology software for the best experience.
